Wireless Ethernet
MobileRobots platforms
communicate with base station via an RS 232 interface. Communication
can take place via a serial cable to a laptop on the robot's
back, a serial tether to a desktop computer or via Ethernet
communication.
External
serial cables to laptop or notebook. Tethers are 6 feet (1.5 meters).
All notebook connectors are 6 inches (15 cm).
These
Ethernet devices communicate wirelessly between robot and an access
point on your wired hub. We offer two robot-side devices, for robots
with or without onboard PC's. For facilities that do not already have
wireless Ethernet, we also offer two wireless access-point models to
plug into your wired hub. ACT0106 robot-side devices may also be used in pairs, peer-to-peer.
All devices are IEEE802.11b compliant.
